9. Fear Itself
Fear Itself” was a horror/suspense anthology TV series that was filmed in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with some additional shots taken in St. Albert and Devon, Alberta. It premiered on NBC on June 5, 2008, airing on Thursday nights at 10/9c. However, the show was put on hold during the 2008 Summer Olympics and was supposed to return afterwards. Unfortunately, no further episodes were aired and NBC remained silent about the fate of the series. Instead, the time-slot was filled with reruns of other NBC shows and “Fear Itself” did not appear on the NBC Fall 2008 schedule.
The title of the series comes from the famous quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” “Fear Itself” was inspired by the anthology series “Masters of Horror” and shares many creative elements with it. The show features self-contained horror and thriller stories directed by some of the biggest names in the horror genre. Both “Masters of Horror” and “Fear Itself” were created by Mick Garris and produced by Industry Entertainment’s Andrew Deane, Adam Goldworm, and Ben Browning
